Driving engagement for the BBC’s Icons season

An eclectic mix of beautifully-crafted animated digital assets and written pieces for Icons – a new series from the BBC aiming to identify the most iconic person of the 20th Century

We’ve been tasked with driving engagement across BBC Digital to the ambitious new BBC Two series Icons, as part of a wider season across the BBC, in collaboration with the Open University. Aesthetically captivating and innovative, the assets take elements of design from across the 20th Century, reflecting not only the categories and specific icons individually, but standing out across the BBC’s social channels as beautiful stylistic representations of the previous century.

This commission presented the task of maintaining consistent design elements, and representing each category and icon individually, whilst ensuring platform specific assets across the various digital channels such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and bbc.co.uk.

The result is a gorgeous collection of assets and designs, which captures the diverse range of the icons, and the innovative nature of the series.
