GMTV's resident psychologist, Emma Kenny is a qualified and highly experienced practitioner with Psychological and Counseling qualifications recognised by the British Association of Counseling Practitioners and the British Psychological Society.

A personable Regularly appearing on GMTV's sofa across from the likes of presenters Ben Shephard and Fiona Phillips, Emma  has given advice on a number of hot topics including stress, anger management, children's behavioural issues and insomnia.

Not one to be tied to a psychologists couch, Emma is a firm believer in getting into the psyche of her subjects whether they be troubled teens ,difficult people  in the work place or the general unsuspecting public .  In fact, in BBC2's hidden camera style programme 'The People Watchers', Emma was  very often thrown into situations where she would go out  into the public to carry out psychological studies on unsuspecting citizens before joining other psychologists in the studio to analyse and breakdown why people react in particular ways.

With a BSc Hons in Psychology from the University of Central Lancs and an Advanced Diploma in Counseling from Manchester University, Emma has spent 13 years working with people in crisis.  Her experience has created unique programmes of support used successfully by her clients from all walks of life.

From BBC2’s ‘The People Watchers’, it is clear that Emma is eager and ready for any challenge and her biggest one to date came in the shape of Europe’s largest housing estate, the notorious Wythenshawe estate in South Manchester where she counseled its youth pioneering new approaches to therapy, which both challenge and compliments current Psychological practice.

Emma’s insight into the human psyche is unique.  Her vivacious, energetic infectious character with a definite go- get- ‘em zest for life is her winning formula to   successfully juggling her counseling practice, family life and a fledging TV career with ease.
