It’s been nominated for two BIMAs, it won a Guardian MEGA, and now the broadcast industry has seen fit to recognise how thoroughly awesome SuperMe is — we’re a finalist in the “best use of digital technology” category in the Broadcast Digital Awards.

We’re rather happy.

The project in question is a content system we built for Channel 4 — it brings together games, linear video, text and interactive playthings together within a game framework. Its objective is to show teens how much power they have over their own resilience.

Orange Music

Over the last few years, we’ve been working with mobile network operator and internet service provider Orange to produce engaging and entertaining text and video content for their web and WAP portals.

Offering a 365 day-per-year news service, informative reviews and interviews with the biggest stars on Planet Pop – our content can be found across the Music Store, Music & Tones (WAP) and Monkey.

We’re also producing regular music video content for Orange’s Zap! video platform, providing live TV blog coverage of the X Factor and supporting Orange’s involvement in the music/volunteering initiative Orange RockCorps and as Glastonbury’s official communications partner.

Fun Lovin’ Criminals and Roots Manuva

On Monday 29th June, BBC 6 Music invited Fun Lovin’ Criminals and Roots Manuva to Maida Vale to record two special versions of their own tracks – FLC guesting on Roots Manuva’s classic ‘Witness (1 Hope)’, and Roots bringing a dubwise vibe to the Criminals’ classic ‘Scooby Snacks’. We were there to record it all in glorious technicolor, the results of which you can see at the 6 Music live site.

Epsom Derby Fashion (for The Guardian)

Those lovely folks over at The Guardian commissioned us to make three films about high-end ladies’ fashion at the Epsom Derby. The project was funded by Investec, the current sponsors of the event.

The BRIT Awards 2010

For the ninth year running, Somethin’ Else is the international radio partner of the BRIT Awards — and this year we’re also the official provider of backstage online video content as well as providing on-screen presentation talent!

It’s a dirty job, but someone’s got to do it.

We’re packing off twenty-three people from Somethin’ Else, relentlessly seeking out all the news and gossip from the stars, and working overnight to produce a highlights show which will be available the morning after the night before, and syndicated internationally (by our Syndication Manager Rob Poland) to twenty-five stations across the world.

Our video production crack team will also be down covering backstage in glorious HD multicamera, providing content for the official BRIT Awards site.

Even our talent is in on the gig: Goldierocks is presenting the backstage bits and pieces.

British Style Genius Website (BBC)

We worked with BBC Vision Multiplatform and the BBC’s Bristol television production team to produce a good-looking site to support the British Style Genius series, which aired in 2008: a five-part overview of different facets of British fashion.

There’s a beautiful Flash-based version of the site and another version built on standards.

O2 Rockwell

In 2009 a huge concert was held at London’s O2 in support of music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.

Our friends at the superb experiential communications agency PD3 asked us to get involved and we created a website and huge amounts of backstage video content with the likes of Tom Jones, Robert Plant, Razorlight and Beverly Knight.

Foxy Bingo Radio

Every Tuesday and Thursday night at 8pm we create a live online radio show for Foxy Bingo.

It’s a chance to win loads of cash and increase the fun as you play bingo online — there’s nothing else like it out there, with entertaining phone-ins from listeners and a format that’s unique in British radio. It employs chat rooms, live gaming, music and other more live gaming, and is much a game as a radio show.

When we built our studios in Brunswick Place a couple of years ago, we specifically designed them to be able to ‘do’ live radio, either for the web or for ultimate broadcast over Her Majesty’s Airwaves. As well as great digital studios, that means a bunch of bandwidth and proper peering at places like ITN.
