Celebrating food with British food lovers
The Kitchen Cabinet is an interaction between the chair Jay Rayner and his sparkling panellists with an audience that loves food and celebrating British food culture.
It’s an audience that enjoys cool food features on the culture, history, science and provenance of Great British Food. The Kitchen Cabinet has built a conversation with them that’s more focused on entertainment than instruction, more about lively debate than dictating recipes.
Content is fun and entertaining, full of the personality and stories that bring out the flavour and specialities of the places we visit. And the regional focus, discussions on the Birmingham Balti, laver bread in Neath and oysters in Whitstable, adds an extra layer of involvement for The Kitchen Cabinet community.
Beyond the weekly radio show, The Kitchen Cabinet audience comes alive online through the Radio 4 Facebook and Twitter communities, complete with Soundcloud clips, and we’ve created the popular hashtag #BBCTKC to keep the audience involved.
The show’s original tone has made it a popular iPlayer and podcast choice with the growing Kitchen Cabinet fanbase, a passionate bunch who like to stay engaged all week.
