Television History

Somethin' Else specialises in Music, Arts, Factual Entertainment and Factual programming. We've made shows for major terrestrial and digital stations including BBC 1, 2, 3 and 4, ITV, Channel 4, five, SKY, Discovery, Artsworld and Rapture TV.

The TV department evolved from our passion to tell good stories about the music we love. Over the last 5 years we've made scores of shows profiling everyone from Brian Eno to Sonic Youth, Lee Scratch Perry to The Hacienda Club. We're also live music specialists. We've also done major live shows for BBC 3 (Guerilla Gig Live) and BBC 4 (Jazz Britannia) and have recently produced performance DVDs for Dido, Nick Cave, Craig Armstrong and Franz Ferdinand.

We transformed the hit40uk chart into a TV format for Channel 4 and have made a bunch of one-off factual entertainment docs for C4, Five and Sky.

We work increasingly hand-in-glove with our buddies over in interactive to make video stuff that can sit as comfortably on mobile phones as it does on TV.
