The Selector

Working in partnership with the British Council for over 5 years this eclectic weekly show profiles and showcases the very best in new British music and talent across all genres. Straight from the underground The Selector’s been at the cutting edge and has helped push the international careers of now well established artists like Amy Winehouse and The Streets. Available in full and kit versions.

The show has earned a reputation in the British music industry for identifying, and championing stars of the future. We bring to your station the raw and unadulterated sound of bands before they’re subject to the pressures of the big label music biz.

The Selector is available both as a complete show presented by Andrea Oliver or in kit form where all tracks, imaging, scripts and running orders are supplied to your station so you can build your own local version using your choice of presenter. As well as giving your listeners the chance to hear the freshest sounds coming out of the UK, The Selector aims to inform listeners about music making in the UK and hopefully expose and inspire its audience by introducing them to new sounds and styles as they emerge from a thriving UK music scene.

Each week the show will include these great features:

• Classic Cut- each week we select an important and influential record from the history of British music and remember how good it still sounds
• The Selector Feature- in this part of the show we look in more detail at one aspect of the music scene, it might be a label special concentrating on the output of one record company or maybe we’re off to a festival to sample some of the delights of music in the great outdoors that is a hug part of British summertime.
• Live Sessions- not content with bringing you the best in new British music pre-release, we go one better and bring you the authentic live sounds of acts recorded live in our in-house studio.
• The Selector Birthday Bash- Each year The Selector celebrates its birthday with a special live gig with appearances from artists who have featured on the radio show during the preceding year, the show is recorded and all the best highlights brought direct to your station
• Available in full or kit form- You can choose what form you take the show in. Whether you take the full English language version or build your own version with your choice of presenter the show will sound great on your station
