Somethin' Else Podcasts
For over 15 years we’ve been making award winning radio programmes for every BBC and commercial radio group as well as over 60 international stations. We’ve also got massive experience in making podcasts and have worked with a wide range of brands and organisations to create high quality podcasts with the same production values as our established BBC and commercial programmes. Here's how you can work with us to make your own audio and video podcasts.
What are podcasts?
Podcasts are on-demand shows tailored to highly targeted audiences and delivered from websites and directories to PCs and MP3 players. The ability of the audience to hear and see this output whenever they choose and wherever they are, now means you don’t need to be a radio or TV station to produce your own shows. In effect, anyone can be a broadcaster and that means you! The real joy of podcasts is that once a user has opted to receive the series, new programmes are automatically sent to their computer and MP3 player as they’re produced. Click once, receive forever!
Who should commission podcasts?
Anyone who has an audience to reach and wants to use audio or video to do so. You could be a brand, an advertising agency, a trade body or a corporate entity. Podcasting is for you if you want to achieve any of the following: • Marketing • Brand awareness • Corporate communications • Knowledge sharing • Communicating with a membership or community • Revenue generation
What will we do?
We’ll meet with you to discuss your needs and who it is you’re trying to reach through your podcast. Then we’ll take care of the rest, producing your content from our state of the art London studios. This will include:
- Creating pilots for your feedback
- Recruitment of presenters and guests or contributors
- Scripting
- Recording
- Editing
- Post production
- Technical advice on how best to deliver a high quality experience for your audience
- Automated delivery of the podcast to your designated website (or we can create and host a website for you).
- Registration with the iTunes music store and other podcast directories to gain visibility amongst your audience
Case Study: Audi
Audi wanted to create a series of podcasts that used music to reach their target audience. Using their campaign strapline of “TT Re-mastered” we created a series of music podcasts, featuring new artists re-mastering established tracks. A series of 7 were created that lived on wwww.ttremastered.com (a website created by our Vision department). For more information,

Case Study: BMJ
The world famous British Medical Journal briefed us to create programmes targeted at their membership of GPs. It was crucial for them that production values were high as their membership were strong Radio 4 listeners. We recruited Radio 4’s Sue McGregor as presenter and produced a series of informative and entertaining podcasts that were listened to by a large number of their membership. For more information,

Case Study: The Apprentice
The producers of the popular BBC television show The Apprentice, wanted to extend their brand and reach viewers away from the show. We created a 13 week series of podcasts presented by Richard Bacon and featuring interviews with evicted contestants, listener comments and guest panellists. For more information,
