Over To You

Over To You, BBC World Service

On air 52 weeks a year, Over To You is the World Service's listener feedback programme. Presented by Rajan Datar, it allows listeners from all over the world to put their views to programme makers and the powers that be within the World Service.

Somethin' Else won the commission and took over the slot in April 2006. At a time when the World Service's English language schedule was being updated and refocused, we set out to deliver a fresh and pacy take on the established listener feedback format.

At the heart of its approach is the creation of a two way dialogue between listeners and programme makers, with listeners most often putting their points directly to the decision makers. Some of the more unexpected benefits we've experienced on Over To You have been an in depth knowledge of international dialling codes and the ability to get lost in Bush House on a regular basis. Though the biggest highlight has been the real privilege of hearing from and talking to World Service listeners all over the globe.
