Mark Lamarr

Mark Lamarr's Musical Journey, British Airways

Take one man with a 40,000 strong CD collection and an acerbic sense of humour, plus Britain's biggest airline, then put 'em together once a month. What do you get? Mark Lamarr's Musical Journey on British Airways.

The show is probably the only place you'll hear Willy Nelson, the Abyssinian Gospel Chorus, El Chicano, The Specials, Candi Staton and all manner of other artists, in one two hour show.

Our client was looking for a music sequence programme hosted by a world-class presenter, who could bring passion and a compendious knowledge of music to their customers. Somethin' Else recruited Mark Lamarr, one of the most eclectic DJs on radio today, to broadcast to British Airways flyers, and we have worked closely with him to programme a monthly show full of anecdotes and musical surprises.

If there's one time you ever come out of a recording studio feeling like you've learnt a little more about music history, it's got to be after spending two hours with Mark and his infectious passion for tunes, old and new. That's how we feel, and we hope our British Airways listeners do too.
