Worldwide consistently faces the challenge of presenting new music in an approachable way to both Radio 1 and Gilles Peterson's substantial international audience. We also look to push the medium of radio into areas that haven't been explored before...

2006 has so far seen outside broadcasts from the top floor of the Roppongi Hills complex in Tokyo, a comprehensive review of Brazilian music live from Sao Paulo and Rio, and The Worldwide Awards in December played host to one thousand five hundred guests at KOKO in London for a celebration of Gilles' music.

These regular ambitious projects (this summer we have six outside broadcasts from all over Europe), coupled with Gilles' insatiable collectors appetite for undiscovered musical gems makes the show one of the most exciting to work on in UK radio.

Giles Peterson is broadcast on Sunday nights between 11pm and 1am.
