Fresh40 represents the start of an exciting new era in chart programming and a chance for us to respond to the changing musical climate. As well as diversifying the chart output of Commercial Radio it's also a golden opportunity to show off our eclectic knowledge of dance and urban music.

Every Sunday between 4 and 7pm, Dynamite MC counts down the freshest rhythmic (that is, dance and urban) tracks in the UK in a chart broadcast across the Galaxy network, Kiss, Fire 107.6, Juice 107.6 and Oxford's FM 107.9. The show is focused upon the music and drives towards the Top 10 Throwdown, a continuous mix of the top 10 tracks by guest DJ Fidget Kid. In a first for any chart show the Throwdown is uninterrupted by adverts or speech and is a unique twist on the count down format.

We already produce the hit40uk chart show, which goes out across 120 stations across the UK as well as world wide via syndication, and Fresh40 has provided an opportunity to create a chart show that caters for a more specialist audience.

Fresh40 is a fully interactive offering with listeners texting in to vote for their favourite track in the Mixtape Battle, where two DJs go head-to-head with tracks from their mixtapes. We also developed the website Fresh40.co.uk to bring the show to life online. It's a continually updated portal of news, artist profiles and videos, as well as the weekly podcast. Listener interaction is a priority online as well as on air and the site also offers a chance for fans to have their say on latest new releases.
