Charles Hazlewood

Charles Hazlewood, BBC Radio 2

This programme is now in its third series and is undoubtedly the most avant garde programme commissioned by Lesley Douglas for Radio 2.

Although this is essentially a classical music show, conductor Charles Hazlewood isn't afraid to play Hendrix or The Prodigy next to Brahms or Britten.

It's a real lesson in musicology where you simply never know what's going to be played next. We record the entire show in a trailer on Charles' Somerset farm overlooking Glastonbury Tor and are often joined by guests from the local area such as Michael Eavis, June Tabor and Goldfrapp.

The third series of the show ran from May to June, 2006. The fourth will run from March to April 2007
