The Black Room Sessions 

The Black Room Sessions is a monthly live music TV show streamed from its own site, http://www.blackroomsessions.com/. Each month it features a unique music mix that is completely distinctive in the current music TV market, rendered to the web in an arresting and simple way. Six to eight artists perform live, and the audience can either watch the full half hour show, or click on individual artists to see individual tracks.

The show is filmed in a neo-noir style here at Somethin' Else. Its simple approach lets the music do the talking- sparsely lit and expertly produced, the mini-cinematic visuals match the flawlessly recorded audio. Multiple cameras track fingers on strings and linger on the singers' every twitch, or float on a snare drum inches from a drumstick. Imagine a stripped down music video filmed live in a studio, up close and personal. The viewer can watch the streamed show either in a YouTube-style window or in a much higher quality full screen image. Each monthly show is archived on the site, allowing the audience to watch bands that they love from previous months. 

Musically the offering is completely distinctive from any other TV show available anywhere.  Featuring the hottest new acts from both sides of the Atlantic, leftfield artists from around the globe, classic players that inspire devotion from their fans and one-off jams from artists playing together from the first time, the show will be the only place to see the music that matters. 

The Black Room Sessions presents a very eclectic mix of the best music, month after month: in the first six months it will host the likes of Terry Callier, Joyce, Fridge, Konono #1, Lupe Fiasco, JME & Skepta, John Hollenbeck & Theo Bleckman, The Super Furry Animals, Candi Payne, Jack Penate, Luisito Quintero, Jamie Cullum and Soil & Pimp, Remi Nicole, Little Dragon, Eugene McGuiness, Kano and Craig David, Foals, The Heavy, Mum, Iron & Wine and many, many more.
