17/08/07 - Rickie and Melvin give the Kiss of life to radio ratings
The latest Rajar figures have revealed a huge success for the Kiss FM breakfast slot, presented by Rickie and Melvin, two of Somethin’Else Talent’s hottest properties.
In just three months of presenting “The Sound of Summer”, our boys have added an incredible 105,000 listeners to the Kiss breakfast audience. With 688,000 listeners in the three months to June, Kiss is now ahead of Capital in the breakfast ratings battle for the first time ever and we’re thrilled – but not surprised – that Rickie and Melvin have proved to be so popular.
Kiss Group Programme Director, Andy Roberts, said: “ I wanted to try something from scratch, something fresh. Rickie and Melvin are the right age, they have a decent chemistry, so I’m delighted with how they’ve done”.
