25/06/07 - JK & Joel present 'Sing It Back: Lyric Champion 2007'

You don't have to sing it well; you just have to sing it right!

A trio of top radio presenters are on board for Sing it Back: Lyric Champion 2007 a new entertainment series on ITV1.

Paul Gambaccini will be joined by JK & Joel in a search for the person who knows song lyrics backwards, forwards and any other way you choose.

JK & Joel say: We are incredibly excited to be taking part in this great new show.  We are looking forward to working with Paul Gambaccini, he is a legend, and is incredibly knowledgeable about music.  We think this is going to be a fun show with plenty of opportunity for the viewers to join in at home."

Paul adds: "Recognizing a lyric and remembering it are two very different things. To be able to sing the line that comes after the line we play, a contestant will really need to know the words. I'm the judge who will decree whether the singer has got the lyrics word perfect or not. Expect a lot of tough love."

Paul will be the adjudicator, and he will have the final say on any quibbles from the contestants, although JK & Joel are bound to have their say as well.

In this competition it’s how accurately you fill in the missing lyrics that count, it’s not how you sing, but what you sing.

As the contestants are whittled down , the rounds get progressively harder, and the adjudicator makes no allowances for even the smallest slip up.

There will be lots of tension, surprises and laughs in store as our contestants compete to sing in the musical blanks.

Can they sing it back or will they be “caught in a trap and there’s no turning back”, or celebrate and figure out “…where the drinks are free”? The fast-paced quiz will definitely have them “Dizzy…”

Sing it Back: Lyric Champion 2007 can be seen from Saturday 7 July on ITV1 from 8.30pm – 9.30 pm
