17/06/06 - Cash Call Launches On Air
Somethin' Else is proud to launch the UK's first interactive quiz radio show, Cash Call, across the GCap One network.
Every week in the show - broadcast on Sunday nights between midnight and 2am - listeners can take part in a variety of quizzes to win a minimum of £1,500 in cash prizes. The show is hosted by Capital Radio DJ Chris Brooks and features segments such as Mystery Voice and Guess the Noise. The quizzes are virtually uninterrupted with no commercial breaks and only three music tracks played during the show.
In another first for the radio industry, Cash Call is entirely self-funded. Costs are covered through the revenue gained from premium rate phone calls to the show.
The first show was broadcast on Sunday June 18.
