Somethin’ Else had a great night at the Sony Radio Academy Awards last night, picking up three Gold awards, two Silvers, and one Bronze at the radio industry bash.
Now Playing @6Music won Gold in the category for Best Use of Multiplatform/Social Media, while David Rodigan took the gong for Best Specialist Music Programme for his Radio 2 show. Another Somethin’ Else production, The Ronnie Wood Show, was runner up in the same category, taking the Silver award. Somethin’ Else talent Rickie, Melvin and Charlie also took the prize for the Breakfast Show of the Year.
Gardeners’ Question Time won the Silver award for Best Speech Programme, while the 606 team’s contribution to 5Live’s coverage of Gary Speed’s death was recognised with the Bronze award in the Best Breaking News Coverage category.
