For those about to rock, we salute you! And you can keep on rocking for the next six weeks thanks to a brand new Radio 2 series presented by AC/DC singer Brian Johnson.
Somethin’ Else adds another international rock megastar to it’s credentials with iconic singer and self-confessed car fanatic Brian Johnson sharing the songs and artists that provide the soundtrack to his life, every Thursday night for six weeks on BBC Radio 2.
Drawing from 32 years experience as the front man of one of the world’s biggest ever rock bands, Brian shares stories of rock n’ roll loves, laughs and losses, plus priceless anecdotes and pearls of wisdom from a lifetime of tour bus mischief and a devotion to rockin’ all night long.
Brian, who splits his time between Florida, London and his beloved native Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, recorded the six shows in the same Somethin’ Else’s studios where Slash recorded his Radio 2 series earlier this year, and where Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood recorded his award-winning programme for Absolute Radio and Sky Arts.
“The recording process was a dream” says executive producer Dan Cocker. “Brian is a natural talker, so getting him to open up was no problem. In fact, he had myself and producer Ben Jones in stitches all week! His anecdotes are mind-blowing, and his playlists are a perfect mix of all the artists who’ve made him who he is.”
Brian’s infectious enthusiasm and all-killer-no-filler music picks are guaranteed to put a smile on your face, whether you’re hitting the road or the sofa. Expect massive hits from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Queen, Joe Walsh and ZZ Top, as well as rare gems from The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Nashville Teens and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.
Unmissable for AC/DC fans, and an appointment to listen for anyone who loves classic rock presented by a hugely passionate and entertaining rock star. Brian Johnson’s Rockers & Rollers premieres at 10pm on Thursday 30th August, and continues every Thursday for six weeks on BBC Radio 2.
