CJ Beatz, DJ Q, Crissy Criss, Young Lion and Charlie Sloth spend hours every week hunting down and selecting the freshest, hottest, most important urban music just for 1Xtra listeners. In order to highlight their roles as key tastemakers they’ve been popping up on 1Xtra’s daytime shows and shouting about how hard they work on the ‘rave-yard shift’!

And it’s been a big week on the shows themselves:

On Monday CJ Beatz had rising RnB star Bluey Robinson on the show for his Soundcheck freestyle feature.

Tuesday saw DJ Q play out his recent DJ set recorded at super-club Space in Ibiza.

Crissy Criss teamed up with Drum and Bass duos DC Breaks and Sigma on Wednesday for a Power Hour special. They each dropped a mix containing 60 tracks in 60 minutes.

On Thursday Young Lion presented highlights from the One Love Festival that went down in Wembley, London. There he interviewed the likes of Sean Paul, Shaggy & Etana.

And on Friday Wretch 32 co-hosted the Hip Hop Mix show with Charlie Sloth. Wretch also dropped a live PA of his new single and even took over control of the music!
