About The Job
We are currently seeking an IT Support Analyst who will provide primarily first and second line Mac and PC support plus some occasional network and server support. The individual will have a broad of experience supporting a mixed Mac & PC environment, including hardware, software and a variety of peripherals.
The individual will be involved, to varying degrees, in implementing, supporting and maintaining every aspect of all IT systems at Somethin’ Else and of course, the people and teams that rely on them. This is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to get hands on with a wide range of technologies in an incredibly vibrant and exciting organisation.
The successful candidate will report directly to the IT Manager and will need to be highly organised in order to assist in ensuring the smooth running of the IT systems. They will sometimes need to work to tight deadlines and be flexible with working hours to meet such deadlines. They will be an enthusiastic, quick learner, willing to take on new responsibilities when required.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have previous experience of working in the music, or video production industry. Previous radio or other broadcast experience would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
• Operate and regularly update the ticket tracking helpdesk system
• Provide technical support to all staff
• Support & maintain all desktop computer hardware and software
• Support & maintain all printers, managing toner and ink supplies, changing when needed
• Assist with operation of A/V equipment for meetings in conference room
• Ensure the company’s IT policies and procedures are adhered to
• Develop and maintain a close working relationship with Production/Engineering team
• Assist Production/Engineering team in supporting studios and edit suites
• Occasionally liaise with third party suppliers/providers. E.G. for backup tape storage or copier support.
• Occasionally request pricing from established suppliers for software and hardware as needed
• Provide reports and recommendations to IT Manager, as requested.
• Assist with any IT support duties, as requested.
Technical Experience Requirements – Essential
• Mac OS X Client Support – Troubleshooting and Administration (10.5,10.6)
• Microsoft Windows Client Support – Troubleshooting and Administration (XP, Vista, 7)
• Proficiency in Hardware upgrades and computer repairs – Mac and PC
• Printer Support (HP, Samsung, Canon)
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office software (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Excellent knowledge of Apple applications: Mail, iCal, Pages, Keynote
• Some Kerio Connect 7 Support or Use
• WAN/LAN/WIFI configuration and support
• Supporting data backup using tape libraries
• Knowledge of Audio/Visual equipment operation
• Must be able to explain technical issues in non-technical terms when necessary
Technical Experience Requirements – Desirable
• Mac OS X Server Troubleshooting and Administration (10.4,10.5,10.6)
• Microsoft Windows Server Troubleshooting and Administration (2003, 2008)
• X Serve RAID
• Nexsan SATABeast RAID
• Support and Maintenance of Windows 2003 and 2008 Server
• Windows Media Streaming Services, IIS and ASP.NET

• Archiware PresStore
• Linux/Unix support
• SAN support
• Working in a broadcasting environment
• Working knowledge of music production software: Cubase, Pro Tools, Logic, etc
• Working knowledge of video production software: Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Studio
• SADIE audio support
• iPad/iPhone support
• Familiarity with CRM/accounting software (SAP, Sage)
Person Requirements
• At least 3 years IT Support experience (excluding telephone Helpdesk roles)
