Celebrating the unique culture of the French island of Guadeloupe, a small part of the EU in the Caribbean Sea, David Murray & The Gwo Ka Masters combine festive melodies and free blowing solos over an intoxicating and hypnotic groove. Featuring native Guadeloupians Francois Ladrezeau and Marius Bonte on percussion and vocals and the stunning technical prowess of guitarist Hervé Samb from Senegal, the group is completed by esteemed drummer Hamid Drake, bassist Jaribu Shahid, Rasul Siddik on trumpet and the mighty David Murray on tenor saxophone.
