Last autumn jazz critic Kevin le Gendre made a trip to Berlin to explore the jazz scene 20 years after the fall of the wall. Finding it to be full of rich treasures there were simply not enough minutes in an hour to fit everything in one programme, so on this weeks Jazz on 3 he revisits some of the music and people that he met.

The main gig comes from Hammeriver (a typical Berlin band in that none of them are German). Led by Australian harpist Clare Cooper the group’s Zen trance quality takes inspiration from the spiritual soul of Alice Coltrane.
