JK & Joel

JK & Joel are currently presenting “Remote Control Star”, a brand new show on CBBC. Going out every Thursday afternoon at 5:15pm, JK & Joel hand power over to a group of children who control the minds of everyone from Joe Swash to Jedward, via a hidden earpiece!

JK and Joel are without doubt two of the most versatile and likeable talents in UK broadcasting and now with a number of TV projects under their belt the boys are going from strength to strength. They can currently be heard presenting the weekday breakfast show on 96.3 Radio Aire in Leeds. JK & Joel were recently seen fighting it out on Celebrity Total Wipeout which JK won, beating two Olympic medallists in the final!

They were recently seen hosting the third series of “Escape From Scorpion Island” for BBC (UK) and ABC (Aus) which went out every Sunday on BBC 2 at 9am. It was an action packed show where by six children, aged between 11 and 13 years old are marooned on an exotic island thousands of miles away from home. They compete against each other to be the first to conquer the island and escape from it.

Joel is a keen chef and appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Masterchef in 2009.

JK and Joel hosted Disney’s brand new series, ‘My Camp Rock’, showing every Friday. A talent show based on the movie, involving a UK talent search across the country. This will culminate in a live final, which will be a huge event on the Disney network.

JK and Joel’s multi-award winning CBBC show “Hider in the House” was a massive hit! With over 40 celebrities taking part from the likes of David Seaman to Myleene Klass hiding in the house of their biggest fans trying their best, with the help of the families and JK and Joel for their cover not to be blown. The show contained comedy sketches, messy challenges and edge of the seat moments with pure jeopardy.

In the Summer of 2007, JK and Joel made their ITV1 Saturday night debut with the entertainment show “Sing It Back” boasting a ratings success when beating BBC1s ’Live Earth’ in its first week. The boys were also part of ‘Top of the Pops Reloaded’ (BBC1) Saturday morning presentation team, alongside Fearne Cotton and Sam and Mark. They played pop quizzes with celebrities, chart predictions and appeared in fun sketches.

JK and Joel began their radio careers independently at the age of 16 and they’ve come a long way since joining forces on the breakfast show at Viking FM (Hull). From there they moved to the group’s flagship station Key 103 (Manchester) where they achieved record-breaking figures and won several Sony Radio Awards including 2 gold awards for “UK’s Best Breakfast Show”.

During their time in Manchester hosting the breakfast show, JK and Joel managed to present 3 TV series; Motormanics, Playboyz and BBC’s Pure Soap.

In early 2004 the call came from BBC Radio One - every DJ’s dream place to work, how could they turn it down? JK and Joel hosted the ”Early Breakfast Show” and the “Official Chart Show” for 3 years. Over that period their chart show beat rival HIT40UK for the first time in 10 years. After leaving Radio One they hosted on Absolute Radio (formally Virgin Radio) presenting weekend lunchtimes and covering the breakfast show for Christian O’Connell.

JK and Joel are loved by both adults and children and continue to entertain across television and radio.
